Isobel’s Garden

by Bettie DeWitt

Look what those little hands over at Zimmerman Community Center’s Isobel’s Garden have done!! With the guidance of bigger people, the students and pre-schoolers (clearly all with very green thumbs) have created an oasis of flowers, vegetables and herbs over on one of our undeveloped blocks on NW Raleigh and 14th. We’ve donated the use of the space as we did previously on our Block 15, across from the Fields Park, because it’s a great organization to support – they do a lot for the community.

What a lovely way for the children to learn about nature and connect with where their food comes from. Please go see – not just the beautiful garden, but the Zimmerman Community Center as well!!
